yes greg, i know it's a day late...my apologies.

So at this point, I don’t really have anything else to write about that pertains to politics unless I just want to piss people off, which is most definitely not my intention. Not only do I feel that 250 or 230 or however many words we’re supposed to have is a bit much for a blog, but I have no idea what to come up with that’s intelligent enough that people want to read it, or political enough to tie into my previous blogs. But I figured since I’m already losing credit for posting this one a day late, I’m just going to write about whatever I want, for lack of a better, more related subject.
So, I’ve never been a prose person, I’ve always really enjoyed poetry. And not just pretty poems about scenery and being in love, but rather really deep, intricate poems that no one else really understands. Thus, I have provided a poem for people’s reading pleasure, and don’t fret if you don’t quite get it, because I leave a lot to be determined.

Come close to me my dear,
you prayer to be enlightenedwon’t be heard in the years to come.
And everyday our redundant livesfall into a circled path;
and whisks us away to better days.

Come close to me, my dear,
Your withering death wisheswon’t disrupt you in the years to come.
And every night you pray for meto love you with all I have inside;
but you don’t know that I pray it too.

Come close to me, my dear,
my bliss that all but killed youwill be put to rest in the years to come.
And the blows of existence hit you with my shortcomings;
But don’t give up, just don’t give up.

Fall asleep in the pouring rain,
look for me when the light shatters all your dreams.
Your heart will beat out my name,
once deprived, the void will gasp for your breath.
--we still won’t understand.

maybe a bit extreme, but who knows?

hello, i'm madi, and i am NOT freaking racist.

The following is my personal opinion, and is written with the upmost respect:

Another ongoing trend I’ve noticed after this recent election is how the word “racist” seems to be thrown around quite a bit. Obama is our new president elect; I did not vote for him, nor do I agree with anything that he stands for; so apparently, according to the new American way of thinking, I am racist. The actual definition of racism is: “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race” as Webster’s Dictionary so gracefully puts it and this does not fit me at all. I most definitely do not base anything on skin color, it’s a physical attribute to me. I believe that a person is not black, a person’s skin is black, so therefore, by saying that someone is black because their skin is black is like saying that I am green because my eyes are green in my opinion. America having a ‘black president’ is like having a president with dimples as far as I’m concerned, and that had absolutely nothing, nothing to do with my decision not to vote for him. I cannot stand how people who do not know me as a person make such horrid judgments about me based upon the presidential candidate I voted for; it’s the most immature thing I have ever encountered in my life. I could even argue that making such an accusation is racist in and of itself; they are the ones that are bringing the skin color factor into play, not I.

Basically what I am saying is this: the next person to utter the word “racist” in my presence is going to heed a few choice words, and an unforgiving kick to the groin courtesy of Madi, because I, for one, am sick of this shit.

Thank you.

wait, you mean we don't all have to think the same?

America has boasted its right to ‘freedom of expression’ for centuries. However, after my own personal observations of this election, I would beg to differ we are really that free to express our political ideas. And I’m not talking about the government controlling how we vote or what we say, but rather our peers. I could barely leave my house without being bombarded with Obama supporters making sure I was going to vote for him, and telling me how horrid of a political figure John McCain is. And frankly, I could care less who people choose to vote for; but when you start forcing your candidate on me, it becomes a problem. Now, I was never a huge fan of the man anyways, but I didn’t dare breathe an inconsiderate word about what he stood for politically for fear of being called all sorts of lovely names, such as “stupid”, “ignorant”, “uninformed” ect. I’m not saying that John McCain supporters didn’t do the same thing, I am simply saying that it’s not right.

Before I get bombarded with nasty comments, I just want to make it clear that this is America; and I would love to exercise my right to vote for whoever I like, and to be able to say it publically without people going fanatical on me. We do not all think the same, that’s why our cars are different colors, there’s different genres of music, and different political figures to vote for. I do not have a problem with people stating their opinions, but be at least a little damn considerate of other who don’t agree with you.

Amen?
